Brighton Printing – Yahoo! UK News Message Boards – Transport – Rail price increases – are you willing to pay?

Yahoo! UK News Message Boards – Transport – Rail price increases – are you willing to pay?

Virgin! I wish! Luxury trains mate. That’s the only thing I do look forward to when I go up to Birmingham. In our area the toilets in our ‘wonderful’ new trains open directly into the carriage, and have electric doors with electronic locks, so inevitably some poor sod flashes there $%^& (or worse) to a carriage full of commuters every day (and they close back up really slowly, ha ha ha), and the smell of sh*t pervades the air. There’s 7 seats across the carriage compared to Virgins spacious 4 (with arm-rests and laptop charging point).

I hear you on the bus one though. Isn’t it great when you pay extra for a train then find out you’re getting a bus anyway? Like you wouldn’t have taken national express instead if you’d known!

Ah, I also remember a classic from Virgin, when they once advised me at 4pm at Birmingham international that there was no way to get down home until 12.30am the next day. Off the top of my head I queried a few possible other routes, but each of the 4 members of staff I asked claimed they were impossible. Ignoring all their advice I improvised a route, and was home at 8pm.

Another time South West trains told my colleague she was stranded in Portsmouth, she could not get a train to Exeter at all that day because South West were on strike, and she should travel the next day. I specifically asked South West could she not get a Wessex train to Westbury, and change onto the ‘old intercity’ trains (didn’t know that network name) down into Exeter, but they claimed that was not possible, she was definitely stranded, and the online train journey planner backed them up. I advised her to travel anyway, and just do what I said. There were in fact half hourly trains running all day on that route back to Exeter!

Yes, the classic- they now give you incorrect information about journey’s because station staff won’t advise you on other company’s services, and there is a set route programmed into their central computer that it will not deviate from even if there’s a problem on that line. It’s designed in many cases to send you on a longer route to ease congestion on faster routes. Net result? They can leave you thinking you’re stranded even if you’re not. Never travel without a network map! Better still, DON’T GO BY TRAIN!

Where is a good t-shirt printing place in the UK that has a low minimum order, and offers lots of colours.?

I have some great t-shirt designs, and I'm looking to sell them online. But firstly I need to find somewhere to get them printed. The price needs to obviously be as cheap as possible, they need to be able to have a good range of colours for the t-shirts, and also if possible a free sample and a low minimum order.
This is mainly because I've heard alot of companies where their designs just wash off after the first wash. So I'm looking for a company thats reliable! Also preferrably in the UK.
I've had a look through searches on the internet, but most major companies have high minimum orders or not the capabilites I'm looking for.
When I find somewhere to get the t-shirts printed, I will then sell them via my own company and website. But first things first by finding somewhere to get them printed =]

Any suggestions would be very helpful! Also if you've bought from any of the companies, it would be brilliant to hear from your experiences with them.

Ok so you might find the next few links interesting. These are from around the web, just random snippets that I’ve picked up in my reading, but I found some very cool information in them. You might too. Here goes…
